PC Repairs

It happens to all of us at one time or other. PCs break down or develop problems occasionally. If it's one of ours, it's highly unlikely, we have a fail rate of less than 0.1% (compared to 20% for some manufacturers). Most computer problems arise from user error, software damage, corruption or incompatibilities, or operating system problems.

Most, though not all, are readily repaired either by Remote access or on-site within an hour. Some software problems may be more labour intensive or difficult - and may result in an overnight sojourn to our workshops. Less likely, but nonetheless common, major repair of your operating system may be required, which can take a day or two!

Hardware faults are more simple - we use a range of diagnostic software and hardware to accurately pinpoint a fault within your computer - our diagnostics are superb - and generally we can spot your problem within 15 minutes. If we have the component (we carry a vast range of spares), then we can replace it on the spot. Most computers are readily field serviceable and most will accept standard components. However, to cater for those who bought Dell, we also have a separate set of spares. . .

More rarely, a PC may be taken to our workshops for repairs. Even more unusual, we have to obtain parts by order, which can take a few days. We aim to have repairs completed within 24 hours of fault diagnosis in all cases, with the exception of hard drives which may take up to a week due to the slow nature of some processes.

In all cases, where work on an operating system is undertaken, an image of your hard drive is taken before we begin (if possible - occasionally a damaged hard drive cannot be imaged) and retain it for up to 7 days after you get your PC back. This means that we can easily return the drive back to its exact, original condition.
