Software Piracy Non-Genuine Windows? We can help... Call 01423 542085 PCs running non-genuine, "pirate" or "crack" operating systems are vunerable to viruses, spyware and trojan attacks. Data corruption and subsequent loss is far more common in these situations. Many older PCs with non-genuine windows cannot update, so stay bereft of necessary service packs, fixes and security patches. That aside, software piracy is theft. We are able to obtain licences from microsoft to "legalise" these systems - although, many cases the cost is higher than the value of the PC, with obvious recommendations. CPCD Limited supply only genuine software. Even in the light of recent and continued publicity, highlighting the problems of software piracy, we still find PCs that have been sold by shops and "friends" to probably unsuspecting persons, who assume that they have got the real thing. It's a problem. As Microsoft Partners, and PCA Members, we have a duty of care, which means that we are obliged to report any incidence of software piracy we discover. The reason? Read on.
Pirate, copied, or crack software is known to be potentially damaging to your computer. It increases the chances of exposure to viruses, spyware and downloader trojans that can affect your privacy and the stability of your PC. The cash generated from large scale software piracy is often fed into organised crime such as drugs, prostitution and people trafficking.
PCs running such software (not just Microsoft - any pirate or crack software) are not covered under any circumstances by our warranty. CPCD Limited provide only Genuine Software. Where non-genuine software is running, CPCD Limited reserve the right to cease work immediately, and return the machine to the customer, unless a course of corrective action is agreed. Where repair has been abandoned due to presence of pirate software, we will still charge for time, where indicated. Your Data is at risk when you run Pirate or Crack software. As always, the customer's data is the customer's responsibility, however, if you have requested a data transfer, we will always do our best to ensure everything is safely moved - if this fails due to corruption, we take absolutely no responsibility if your software is not Genuine.
